Tsuru is the Japanese word for 'crane'.
Suzaku is written with two kanji; su, meaning 'vermilion' and zaku, meaning 'sparrow'. It's also the name of the legendary vermilion bird said to rule over the southern heavens.
Tsuru is a kunoichi of Konohagakure, a member of the Suzaku clan, and the leader of Team 2.
