Mutsuki Higanbana

The oldest of the Higanbana sisters, a kunoichi of Konohagakure, and a member of the village's ANBU corps.

Mutsuki has pale skin, icy blue eyes, and loose black hair that falls to her chest with messily cut blunt bangs. A large burn scar covers most of the left side of her face, spanning from her forehead to her cheek, and the contracted skin has resulted in ptosis, making Mutsuki unable to fully open her left eye.

Mutsuki was once a compassionate and optimistic young girl who was eager to help others and whose Nindō was to help those who can't help themselves. Though she quickly realized that being a shinobi wasn't as glamorous as she thought it would be, Mutsuki still remained optimistic and believed she would be able to make the world a better place.

The tragic loss of her sensei seemed to break something within Mutsuki; she began to isolate herself from the world and threw herself into training and going out on missions. She was so busy that she didn't have time to grieve, which was what she wanted at the time, believing it'd be easier to bury all her feelings.

As time went by, Mutsuki would grow disillusioned with the world. It grew harder and harder to believe that she was worthy of a better life, leading to her becoming the person she is today.

She's cynical and nihilistic and willing to let herself die if it means the mission is completed. Nothing matters but giving her sisters a kinder world, one that was ripped away from her when she was too young.

Despite her reputation as an ice queen, rage boils beneath Mutsuki's flesh. She's angry at the man who wiped out an entire clan in one night, leaving only one survivor. She's angry at the world that keeps destroying everything she loves and cares about. She's angry at the system that's responsible for so much needless death and suffering.
