Shiori Aragaki

Shiori Aragaki was born to jonin Tobio Aragaki and his civilian wife Michiko, who is the heiress to a successful fabric company in a civilian city further in the Land of Fire. Tobio was hired on an escort mission for Michiko and the two soon became a couple. Despite their respective busy schedules, the couple decided to have a child anyway and left her primarily in the care of a nanny named Makoto Namikawa.

Makoto cared for Shiori for her early childhood until they assumed she was old enough to no longer require the services of one- and thus when they fired her, Shiori’s world was turned upside down losing her rock. On top of this, her once-close friend Sayato has become more withdrawn and depressed due to the loss of his parents and she began to lash out at him, eventually causing him to break off their friendship. Shiori began her bullying campaign against him soon after that.

She eventually got close with classmates Miyu Sarutobi, Keiichi Inuzuka, and most importantly, her eventual crush Akio Sanada. With this, she also began to pick on other classmates such as Hibana Uchiha, Keiko Aburame, and Haine Kamiya. In particular, she really disliked Hibana, and found her Sharingan incredibly unnerving.

When Shiori graduated from the Academy, she was placed on Romio Uchiha’s team alongside Sayato and Akio. Not only was she pissed at being put on a team with Sayato, but her father also was displeased that his daughter ended up with an Uchiha for her sensei. Despite being teammates, Shiori’s bullying of Sayato and others did not really stop. Shiori also looked up to Romio a lot, despite her father’s discriminatory attitude about Uchihas- but she figured the best way to figure out a counter to Hibana would be getting advice from a fellow Uchiha.

Things became increasingly volatile between Shiori’s friend group and Sayato’s own, but Team Romio (and the other genin groups) were able to keep things up long enough to qualify for the Chunin Exams.

Shortly before the teams were to set off to the Exams, Team Romio took up a seemingly low-ranked mission, with Romio thinking the Chunin-hopefuls could handle a cat rescue mission barely outside of Konoha all on their lonesome. Unfortunately, this mission was a ruse from the Kiri-nin duo Akasu Satonaka and Hitoshi Amagi to ambush one of the teams and throw a wrench in their plans. The trio decided the best plan of action would be to split up since there was three of them and only 2 of the Kiri-nin, however, Sayato was found first.

Sayato threw Shiori and Akio under the rug in an attempt to save his own skin, saying that he’d kill them if they let him live. His plan was originally to try and stall on this to give either Shiori or Akio a chance to tell a jonin to help, but with Akasu attaching a bomb to him if he planned on doing any funny business, he had no choice but to follow through with his longshot.

He found Shiori first, unfortunately for the blonde. Despite her protests to tell him to run off and find a way out of here to get help, he came in closer and pulled her into a quite uncharacteristic hug, stabbing her in the back. Despite this attempt, he hadn’t actually killed her, unbeknownst to himself. He soon moved on, dispatching of Akio and eventually getting Romio and Hibana’s assistance after all was said and done and he had escaped with his own life intact. Hibana found Shiori and noticed that the girl was still breathing despite the state she was in. Shiori weakly begged the Uchiha girl for help, but was met with the girl grabbing Shiori’s oversized hairpin and stabbing her right in the heart with it.
