Romio Uchiha is a member of the Uchiha clan, as well as the jonin of Team Romio, consisting of Akio Sanada, Sayato Yasuda, and Shiori Aragaki. Despite the derisive label of "Late Bloomer" she recieved from others due to not having attained her Sharingan until her mid 20's, she was one of the most skilled shinobi within the Uchiha clan. She acts very aloof and speaks in a far-too-casual type of way than one would expect of her, she does have a soft spot when it comes to those she cares about. After experiencing important losses, she does become withdrawn into herself and has a hard time focusing on her own responsibilities.

Romio is the younger child of Hifumi and Iroha Uchiha, who the two were not expecting as they figured they were one-and-done with their son Ushio. As they were also on the older side, most of the bulk of parenting fell to Ushio, who while resenting his parents at least treasured his relationship with his baby sister to grin and bear it. While growing up, she also became close to her cousin Obito, seeing him as a little brother figure in her life.
When Obito was reported to have died in the line of duty, Romio was devastated and leaned on her teammate Jūri for emotional support, which helped their blossoming romance. However, due to the fact both knew their respective clans were not going to accept their relationship, the two became distant for a while as Jūri operated in Sunagakure on medical diplomacy reasons. However, they picked right back up where they left off once he returned home.
Later in her adulthood, Romio had became the jonin instructor for her very own team comprised of Sayato Yasuda, Akio Sanada, and Shiori Aragaki. While she knew her niece Hibana had issues with Shiori in particular, Romio tried not to let her own biases influence her first impressions of the team. Still, the road was rough as Shiori's dad was blatantly against his daughter having an Uchiha instructor, and she at first was mimicking his own views. Eventually, Shiori, despite her biases against the Uchiha clan and rivalry with Hibana, wanted Romio as an instructor and for her to help her hold her own against Hibana if it ever came to that.
While managing her genins and Jūri managing his own, they decided that wanted to be wed and thus went to the heads of the Hyūga and Uchiha clans both, with both parties ultimately rejecting their plans and demanding the couple break up and even going so far as to arrange inner-clan marriages, with Romio being engaged to Miura Uchiha, someone she barely knew and didn't care to know. It is due to this forced break-up that Romio finally manages to unlock her Sharingan.
After the forced break-up and subsequent wedding, Romio grew rather depressed, barely paying attention to her squad and their ever-growing personal problems. After a while, she and Jūri sparked things back up again, having still remained close even post-breakup and deciding that they might as well have an affair. Jūri had also kept her in the loop for the Hyūga Clan incident, which proved useful for her in the future.
As the genin were preparing for their upcoming chunin exams, tragedy struck poor Team Romio as her team was supposedly ambushed by Kiri-nin and was only left with one survivor, Sayato Yasuda. Romio, having overlooked Sayato for some time now, had an inkling of a thought that the story may not be exactly how he'd told it- after all, the inner-team hostility was growing ever so much worse. But given the fact she hadn't been the best sensei as of late being wrapped up in her own personal issues, decided Sayato was her responsibility to manage and nuture into the best shinobi he could be.
And so, she pleaded to the hokage, Hiruzen, to let Sayato attend the exams as a solo competitor. At first, the old man was hesitant, but Romio pulled out her trump card, threatening to spill the beans on Hiruzen wanting to hide hostilities from other nations such as Kiri and Kumo to prevent more wars and thus serving up his own villagers to the hostile nations on a silver platter. With the hostilities with the Uchiha Clan getting stronger and stronger by the day, he accepted, trying to push back having to deal with THAT issue as well. Romio also took on the duties of escorting Jūri's team to the exams as well as he was not permitted to attend thanks to Hiashi's restrictions on him.
Sayato, along with her niece Hibana both passed the chunin exams, something she was very proud of, and throughout the next couple of years she continued working alongside him, although she kept pushing him into joining the ANBU. Partially because she wanted her own insider connection into them as the Uchiha were working on a coup and she knew Sayato would side with her too when she got the go-ahead to spill the beans on the plan to him, and partially because he did have the kind of darkness in him that made for a good ANBU agent, she felt. And due to her involvement in the potential coup, Fugaku said if she was able to sway Jūri onto her side, she would be allowed to annul her marriage to Miura and marry Jūri instead, which was more than enough to bring her into it.
While planning the coup, Hibana goes missing which devastates Romio deeply. Not too shortly afterward, the Uchiha are brutally massacred and the loss of Romio sends those who cared for her into a dark mindset.
Her story does not come to an end here, as she's brought back through the Edo Tensei jutsu, and has a reunion with her student, Sayato, as well as Jūri, who is also deceased by then. She does not get a chance to see Obito, but she is unfortunately brought to speed that he is one of the forces behind the Fourth Shinobi World War. Ultimately, she ends up leaving the realm of the living alongside Jūri after the Edo Tensei is undone.
