Overview
Originally, the Hainu clan boasted the ability of Typhoon release, which manifested great winds that they could manipulate with minor affinities of water and lightening release. In truth, this is more of a divinely laid blessing/curse. Their contract with their Goddess, however, changed them at the core, as she added Yin Release to combine with Typhoon for a new Kekkei Genkai bloodline. This bloodline manifests in two versions, the blessing version "The Divine Wolf's Blessing" and the curse version, "The Beast of Misfortune". There are some abilities that are shared by both versions. - Cursed Seal Face Markings : With this alteration into their bloodline, two vibrant blue crescents appeared under the eyes of Hainu clan members. These are not just face markings, but cursed seals. This Curse seal makes a loyalty pack on the individual's soul with the Goddess, and lets her have sway over their actions as their liege. In normal strength, this is only a sense of affection and loyalty, but if strengthen with unnatural means could lead to total control over the individual for the sake of their leader. If the cursed mark does not connect to the goddess, as it happens with the cursed version of the blessing, then the individual must find another target to pledge their allegiance to or else suffer mental deterioration into insanity. - Dog Whistle Allegiance : Every Hainu clan member has a dog whistle heirloom that is tied to their True Name, which is carved into the whistle. This is a mark of loyalty, which represented how their Goddess could call upon them at any time. The Goddess has no need to use such a limiting device however, so it is more of a symbol. If used, the device makes a one way summoning of the individual it is tied to. Without an allegiance to a Goddess, this dog whistle can be given as a sign of trust and loyalty, and will halt the worsening of the Hainu member's mind. There is a consequence however, in that if used wrongly, or perhaps the correct way, the person using the whistle can have control over the Hainu member's actions. "Sit." and the Dog sits. - Winged Wolf Physique : Hainu clan members are bestial in nature to start with, as sharp fangs show their heritage. This is an enhancement of those wolf features using chakra almost unconsciously. Jaw strength enough to bite into steel, clawed hands strong enough to grip rocks into dust, and agile legs able to leap great distances to pursue prey are just a few of these examples. Their senses are heightened, but can be taught to tune out information so it isn't overwhelming. They are able to see better in the dark than most. If their control over feral instincts is not tempered, then they could lose themselves in becoming a real animal. ## The Divine Wolf's Blessing - Fortunate One : The Goddess loves the Hainu clan dearly and wishes for no misfortune to darken their brow. Good luck seems to follow them due to her kindness, and a Hainu clan member's virtuous actions are always rewarded. Righteous acts lead to Justice, and noble bearing leads to respect. People look upon the Hainu and feel inclined to positive emotion towards them due to them being divinely chosen. This, can lead to Envy towards them however. This ability could even be said to fuel hatred to even greater heights from those that are already inclined to negative opinions of them, such as enemies of their Goddess. - Faithful Hounds, Be of Service : The Wolf Summoning clan is favored by the Goddess and she is seen as their deity and divine leader. If she favors you, they favor you. The Hainu were seen as Friends of Canines due to this, and the summoning clan worked as allies with them. Dogs employed in service fought alongside the Hainu, which can be seen in the Inuzuka's traditions as passed down. - The Goddess Leads by Example : The Goddess is known to favor both the sword and the bow. This ability makes it so that chakra can imbue the sword and bows in ways otherwise couldn't. Strikes against "Evil" and "Evil inclined" beings are stronger and deal more devastating damage. The power of these attacks can go beyond the plane to hunt down supernatural beings most normal attacks cannot reach. The Hainu clan can purify great evil using their weapons. - Sealing Great Evils, A Slow Death : If Evil cannot be purified, then they must be slain. If they cannot be slain, then they should be sealed. Sealing great evil will weaken it over time, until they are weak enough to be either purified or slain directly. This ability also gives some influence on sealing abilities and fuinjutsu. The Hainu clan has passed down sealing techniques, but most are lost in the current age. - Fox Hunts are for Making Friends : The Hainu clan gain the ability to see through shapeshifting genjutsu and fox natured illusions with this blessing. They are the natural enemy of foxes, and as such have abilities that counter Kitsune greatly. Fox Fire is easily doused, and theft is easily discovered before items are stolen. They have a natural predator relationship with those they hunt, and fear is superimposed onto their prey. Kitsune look upon them, and cower as they recognize the sign of the hunt. This leads to great misunderstandings with those of the Inari faction, and disputes happen with Hainu members mistaking the good Zenko for their foes during the rush of the hunt. - O Wings, Let Justice be my Gale : This is a rather high ranking technique of using wind and yin to manifest wings of gale to let the Hainu member fly. This is why they are known at the Goddess's Flying Wolves. The Goddess's Beloved Son is the only known user to manifest wings into reality based on this, but that is likely due to his divine nature. ## The Beast of Misfortune ## This is a corrupted version of the original blessing given by the Goddess. There are more demerits to the bloodline than gifts, but also great and cruel power to be obtained at costs not many could afford. There is opportunity in disaster and freedom from chains. - To have Loved You, was His Greatest Misfortune : The Vengeful, Corrupted Goddess wishes for the Hainu clan to suffer the worst possible outcome in any timeline or any space they exist in. Misfortune not only follows their heels like a wolf on a mountain trail, but also can infect the people around them to suffer bad luck as well if they are close to the Hainu member. The Inuzuka revoked their name and thus does not suffer from this, but the Hatake were slow at letting go of loyalty and thus suffer a mitigated version of this effect. - No one Mourns the Wicked : The Corrupted Goddess wants no one to love the Hainu, just as she has no love for them either. This is a constant, invisible to most but sickly green to some, aura of genjutsu that appears around the Hainu and that feeds off the energy of negative emotion to become stronger. It alters every action the Hainu take to be perceived in a negative light by those that are effected by this aura. A smile turns into a smirk, a genuine congrats sound sarcastic, or even leaps of logic take by the individual effects are taken to the worst conclusion. Not everyone is effected by this aura however, since it does manifest as a genjutsu. Users skilled in genjutsu can see through it, and those that are not effected by curses can bypass the effect. There is a small quirk that those that are already inclined to dislike the Hainu member are not effected either. - A Dog who Bites the Hand that Feeds : The Wolf Summoning clan will never forget a betrayal. They will never, ever, form a contract with humans again after what the Hainu clan did. All wolves, dogs, and associated canines find the Hainu clan disgusting, evil, and untrustworthy. Even the very presence of a Hainu member can be seen as unbearable. The Pack turns against you. - White Eyed Wolf, Envy is your Downfall : The mind of the Hainu slowly corrupts overtime. While allegiance to a master does relieve most of the affliction, the temptation of sin can override this. The Hainu are constantly urged by the curse to commit the sin they are most inclined to. The more a Hainu succumbs to this temptation, the more control this curse has upon them. Love can corrupt into Obsession. Pride mistaken for confidence and wounded Pride leads to folly. Envy. Envy is the worst sin a Hainu could be be inclined to. - And so, the Beast in his Heart consumed him : This is the final form of the corruption of the curse. All Hainu members eventually become the monsters they were supposed to hunt, and become their "True Self". In the beginning, they became half yokai to serve their master faithfully, but it is here that they become a full blooded supernatural creature. There are no words to describe the horrific beast, as they shift into an insane werewolf of eldritch possibilities and untold demonic corruption. The Mind is gone, and only the Beast of Misfortune remains. Unholy power corrupts their surroundings, and with it divinely demonic power is given in return to them. It is here that the cursed seal of loyalty to the Goddess breaks as they reach the end she envisioned, and it is only through this that chains are broken. If a Hainu manages to somehow return from this point, then they would be freed of the Goddess, but none have done so.
