Hainu Clan

A Land of Water clan that the Hatake and Inuzuka clans originated from. The Beast of Misfortune, the corrupted version of the Goddess the clan previously worshiped, cursed the entire lineage with demonic bad luck. While the Inuzuka and Hatake have been freed from the curse, the remnants of this clan are scattered with a divine target on their back.

Early History

Origins
The Hainu clan would not have been created without the Goddess, and as such their end will be by the Goddess's hand just the same. Near the very beginning of this world, when mountains were not yet scarred by erosion and lakes had not yet formed in valleys, a young girl could be seen shooting arrows at evil and chasing (terrorizing) young Bijuu beasts as a playful pastime. In particular, it is said that the young girl had a "great fondness" for a "large turtle" that she convinced (forced) to carry her over waves like a ship, and the beast had a home in a misty lake on one of her islands. There are many stories of her conception, but no one really knows the truth. The day she appeared in the Land of Water, was the day evil found its eternal rival. Her lands spanned over many islands in the Land of Water Archipelago, but her true homeland was the misty mountains of the Shinjiken Islands. The biggest shrine, named The Temple of the Divine Wolf, was on Ajisai Mountain on the largest island of the archipelago.
The Goddess had one true calling, and that was to hunt down evil spirits and demons. At her beckoning, the Wolf summoning clan heeded her call, and the pack hunted for justice and glory across land and sea. The hero of a tale heard the call of the pitiful, and she developed a fondness for the humans she protected in her quest for vanquishing evil. The people she saved begged to serve her well in her quest, and she accepted the few who were strong enough to keep up with her path. These people marked the beginning of the Hainu clan, who served alongside the Wolf summoning clan as retainers of the Goddess.
It was from them that her titles could be hear whispered in reverence. The most notable ones are:
"Kiri-no-yama-no-kifujin" meaning Lady of the Misty Mountain.
"Ajisai-yama-no-ōkami-ken-Sei" meaning The Wolf Sword Saint of Ajisai Mountain.
"Eikō-o-motomeru-takeki-megami" meaning The Firece Goddess seeking Glory

The longer the Hainu clan served the Goddess, the more she rewarded her retainers with gifts and abilities. The clan could feel themselves becoming more like wolves, and great fortune seemed to follow their every step. Vibrant blue crescents appeared under their eyes, the same marking found on their Goddess, and that is when they knew they had finally been accepted as her pack. This is when the Goddess gave them a choice.
"Give me your True Name and your eternal loyalty, and I will forever protect you and your descendants. Let neither misfortune darken your brows nor evil harm your loved ones, for I am here, and I am strong." - The Goddess

The Hainu clan had utter devotion for their beloved Goddess, who was righteous, justful, and strong. They gave their True Names to her, and with it a soul pack of loyalty to her command. They were then blessed by her: The Divine Wolf's Blessing. From then on, all Hainu members create a dog whistle of their very own, that when used can summon the owner (one way teleport). The Goddess did not need such a limiting device, if she called, they will appear. Without them noticing, or perhaps with full knowledge, the Hainu Clan had become half yokai to reach the level of devotion required as a retainer of their goddess.
