Hanī Aburame

Hanī is the unfortunate result of a strange affair between an Aburame Man and a Kamizuru woman. Literally, Hanī's father cheated on his Konaha born wife with the enemy. Despite being mostly wiped out, the Kamizuru are still considered to be inferior insect handlers than the Aburame and are widely hated by the clan.

When his father's affair produced a child, he was forced to come clean to his wife. Hanī's father begged for forgiveness, and she reluctantly agreed to raise Hanī as her own. From the start, Hanī was strange. He wasn't like the other Aburame. He talked an awful lot, even at an early age. Hanī was bold and intelligent but did not play well with others. Hanī constantly drove other clan members insane with his instant questions about this or that. Unknown to them, he just didn't have an outlet for his brilliance.

It wasn't until his time at the ninja academy that Hanī found a true passion. Botanicals. He had observed how his bees were often influenced by the different plants they harvested pollen from. He noted the way the honey that he produced changed properties. Hanī became obsessed with growing his own plants for research, further separating him from the rest of the Aurame Clan. He didn't quite seem to notice the massive void between him and his peers though. Hanī was far more interested in his own research.

Before Hanī could completely disappear into his own little world of mad science, his academy teacher managed to refocus his attention elsewhere. After all, they didn't need his young mind slipping into 'full orochimaru territory'. Using Hanī's own interests, he suggested that Hanī use his knowledge about plants to create new tonics for recovering shinobi. His teacher somehow managed to curve Hanī towards medical purposes, rather than chaos. From that moment forward, Hanī was determined to be the best dang medical science-nin the world had ever seen!
