Ciro was born from a sick woman in Amegakure. He was given multiple names, as his mother suffered from strange delusions and other struggles with her mind. Sometimes she was a soft and loving one, talking about her romance with a dashing passing ninja. Sometimes she wove stories about pain and shame, how her life was nothing but a tale of struggles and hardships and that Ciro was but one more of those.
An inconsistent woman, whose madness was evident as her inability to tell a story and not change it by the next day. Eventually as Ciro grew in this tense and complex environment, he chose to focus himself on the only future his dreadful village could provide him: A shinobi. By the time he managed to become a Genin, still a young child, was where the last of his memories of his sickly mother end. As if she had vanished the moment he became an adult in society's eyes.
Through his childhood there was one presence that manage to ground him. Loke. A friend, a neighbor, a messy individual in just the same chaos as he was. He was the anchor, the one grounding space. The two would survive and fight, and attain a fraction of joy in the land where it always rained misery.
Konohagakure infiltration: The Chuunin Exams
During during the joined Konoha and Suna Chunnin exams, Ciro and his team were assigned to join, being the only team of Genin from the Amegakure. To use this chance to infiltrate and extract secret information from the different Clans. During this short period, the squad managed to infiltrate and barely scrap by the exams. After an encounter with Yamanaka Ino during the First Phase, the woman seemingly wonders if Ciro is related to them.
The two have another encounter afterwards, where Ino sadly discovers that there is a good chance that indeed Ciro is a bastard child of her uncle, a man who had been deployed in Amegakure during the approximate period of his conception, and was currently missing. With one pretty boy out of her reach, the two seemingly part in good terms, but she offers him a chance to join Konoha after hearing Ciro explain the situation en Ame. The boy rejects it, feeling like running away wont help anyone.
As the Exam progresses Ciro encounters Akito Uchiha, a young Genin who was rejected from entering the Chunnin exam. The two have a bout, in which not only Akito loses his life, but also Ciro obtains his recently awakened Sharingan.
Team Ame tries to make their escape from the village, with enough information acquired and with a two week created after the Second Phase of the exam, they know its their best window to escape unharmed. However, during this period, it is that Suna enacts their next plan...
Konoha Crush
The Kyubi appears outside the village during the night, as the entire of Konohagakure's forces are thrown to stall and defeat this figure that came out of the blue. This is Ciro's first encounter with a Bijuu, and their terrifying strength. There is a small moment of cooperation between Ciro and a few other ninja of Konoha, including a rival in the exam named Natsu, to face off against the Suna shinobi. Once they manage to defeat this vanguard force, the elder figures of Konoha manage to seal off the Kyubi, the Hokage at the time choosing to use Natsu as his next vessel.
By the time the Chunin exams are officially cancelled, the reports of the chaos in Konoha are brutal, and the village finds itself at a really weak spot. Meanwhile, Team Ame manage to return to their village, and gather their small wins. The three Genin are promoted to Chunin.
Akatsuki Rises
As the years go by within Amegakure a force of young upstart shinobi start to grow. They call themselves Akatsuki, a growing organization with their only goal being to change things within Amegakure for the best working outside of the official hierarchy of Amegakure. While normally this would be dealt quite lethally, their leaders have enough power and influence that if Ame starts a civil war, it would only create an opening to the other countries nearby. Instead it becomes a cold war, as ninja are sent in sabotage missions against their own peers.
Team Ame are assigned to infiltrate Akatsuki and report on their findings, however the mission quickly fails, as the entire team seemingly find a lot more in common with the Akatsuki goals than with the old hierarchy of the village. The trio decide to start working alongside their odd leader, and Ciro exchanges the Sharingans he had acquired years ago for two items of power. One is information about Yin and Yang Releases, and the second is a secret Yamanaka scroll.
With these two tools, Ciro's abilities grow exponentially, as he finds himself a natural Yin Release user, quickly developing advanced barrier, sealing, and sensory abilities. During this period, despite the tension with the Amegakure official government, Ciro finds himself ascended to Jonin.
The Sanbi Capture Mission
By now Akatsuki had transformed into a secondary wing of the Amegakure government, even if an unofficial capacity. While not near close to reach the inner circle of Akatsuki, Ciro is assigned an important job due to his expertise and ability: Locating and capturing the Sanbi.
The trio found themselves near the ocean. Following myths, and something else. Ciro explained to their friends, that he had a hunch. That the more he developed his new techniques, the more he felt like there was something else that he could feel but not touch that they could use to guide them. And following this hunch, the trio found indeed an old seal on a rock near a cliff of the coast. Too fragile to move, too fragile to interact.
With a need to face this challenge, the group decide to unseal it and re-seal it in a prepared vessel they brought with themselves. It was the most grave mistake they made. None of them were ready for facing against a power of this caliber. Not only their vessel broke as soon as the battle started, they realized that the angry beast would rampage all the way to Ame itself if they escaped. Its hate perfectly fueled.
Despairing at the situation, they were shinobi. They knew what to do. Loke sacrificed himself to stall the beast, and work as a human sacrifice and anchor for one of Ciro's prototype sealing techniques. Without a vessel prepared, Ciro found the only option was to seal the beast within himself. A success, if it could be called that.
One member down, and the beast put in a person rather than a proper vessel, the two shinobi return to Ame. But that would not be the end of their bad news.
Time Skip: Exile and Research
While Team Ame had been gone hunting the Sanbi, Amegakure was fully taken over by Akatsuki, and most of the old guard was executed. This created a complicated situation, as Yuto found out that not only that Akatsuki planned to remove the Sanbi from Ciro by force, but he would have to die to get the tailed beast out of him. This was compounded by the last leader of Amegakure choosing Ciro as his next in line, a succession that put a massive target on the young man's back, unwillingly so.
Without any recourse, Ciro decides to exile himself and abandon the village. Traveling to the east, following this odd hunch he had been following for a while. It is during this period that he develops deeper research on his own roots, into his past, and into the Kuninotokotachi: the energy that seeps across the world. Through this understanding, eventually Ciro managed to safely remove the Sanbi from himself.
Nero is Born
Things were much more different by the time Ciro returned towards Amegakure. Not only he had grown in strength exponentially, but the village had been decimated by the annihilation of Akatsuki. As the elders feared if internal conflict started, the other powers took Akatsuki's rise as a threat and an opportunity, crushing the organization and most of the forces of the village itself.
Of all people to welcome Ciro to the village was an older Yuto. He had managed to climb up, and was currently the second of command of what he called the Second Generation of Akatsuki. Ciro's own research and the organization's efforts had aligned in their information. The Bijuu were extensions of the Kuninotokotachi, creatures born out of the energy of the world itself. And they held the key to controlling the world itself.
Ciro joins the organization, as he takes the moniker of Nero of Chaos. However, as he expects to be a mere member, things take an odd turn. The current leader, an odd and whimsical person known as Tobi, has a conversation with Ciro. The two argue about goals, and Tobi reveals his only desire in Akatsuki is the ring he owns, the one that connects him "To the one closes to the Six Paths". While Ciro has no interest in such a power, he instead takes a different ring for himself, and Tobi allows him to become the next Leader of Akatsuki.
Expansion
During his stay in Iwagakure, Ciro met with another shinobi and the two formed a bond, despite Ciro's status as a missing-nin, Aetus. The two worked together in their research, and Ciro helped him develop his own Kekkei Tota: Swift Release. In return, Aetus helps him research into some ancient carvings in the caves of Iwa, relating to ancient stories, focused on the Kuninotokotachi.
And now that the ranks of Akatsuki were low there was a need to add talented people. His first step is reaching out towards Aetus, and this ninja quickly agrees to join the team, albeit for the moment he does not defect, simply working undercover within Iwagakure.
The second bit of help he finds is a pair of shinobi that were rising the ranks within Konoha. Sifer and Hidan. The two were loud, violent and a menace to everyone. To the point the Hokage at the time, Natsu, was struggling to keep them in check. Ciro takes this chance to reach out towards them, and both grants them access to not only the rings and membership of Akatsuki, but also offering them his new technique: Cursed Seal of Stigma.
The two become the first experiments, unlocking powers that even Ciro himself is surprised through this connection. Working and developing on this expression the two had of this technique, once again the shinobi drowns himself in research, trying to discover this phenomena, he defines it as an Kokyu Kekkai.
Suigetsu vs Nero of Chaos
The first true challenge comes due to the simple fact that Ciro was now the biggest threat to the stability of the world. While yes, currently all of his goals are to send his scant few members on the hunt for Bijuu for a grand plan that few people knew the details, this knowledge was not needed for many. He was the new leader of Akatsuki, an organization the powers of the world deemed unfit to exist.
And the biggest threat to him was the current Raikage: Uchiha Sasuke.
Ciro and him had met briefly during the Chunin exams/Konoha Crush, as the two were participants in the exam. They never faced off against eachother, but in some manner Sasuke was aware that Ciro was involved in Akito's death. And he found it unforgivable that not only Ciro had escaped unpunished from this, but that was gonna be fixed now that there was a legitimate reason for hunt him.
Sasuke's closest ally, Suigetsu, was sent to get rid of him. It wasn't exactly a difficult hunt. Ciro let himself be found by the watery shinobi, choosing to face him to understand what was the strength of those who stood to stop him. And it was something he quickly found... Unremarkable.
The scars in his mind from his fight with the Sanbi years ago felt fresh the entire time he trained, and his strength was ready to face a Bijuu itself. Instead, he found himself overpowering and crushing the hunter in a brutal manner. As such, Ciro willingly let him live and escape, to exist as a warning against anyone trying to get in his way.
But Nero of Chaos knew that the message was too weak. A proper show of strength was needed.
Kumogakure becomes Art
Kuso Genka is an odd technique, but one that allowed Ciro to do something that even he considered surprising. His ring gave him access to a Kekkei Genkai, Explosion Release. And this took the form of a hard to use, hard to manipulate, and hard to obtain clay. A very explosive clay.
However, through Kuso Genka, Ciro managed to create over a dozen of clones of himself, all of them with a measure of power that was more than meaningful, and each one of them as artistic as the old owner of his ring were.
Sasuke, furious about Suigetsu's defeat, personally moved towards Konoha to coerce Natsu, the Hokage, to move against Akatsuki immediately. Not exactly an easy conversation, nor a short one. But it was exactly the type of rash action that Nero of Chaos expected to happen. With an entire Squad of explosive clones, and his main body preparing a C3 with his full might, the current Leader of Akatsuki went after Kumogakure.
And erased it from the map.

This timeline happens in what I'd like to refer as the SNAU, a version where the events of Naruto exist in a limbo where they are treated as canon until an event happens to show up that overrides them. The reason why, is because the canon itself of the origin of this character (Ciro) is from a forum that started in 2008, where crucial reveals hadn't been confirmed, and where they wanted to purposefully allow both OCs and Canons to interact. So while Canons claims were given a chance to exist, they were also were (in most cases) mandated to start as Genin and the like. Rules set up by the owners at the time. This led to strange events that don't make sense, yet seemingly are written with the intent of following some chronology similar to the Naruto manga plotlines. This compounded with IRL elements to any cooperative story: If someone vanishes from the story, or returns later, they need to be retconned somehow.
This includes specific story beats, like the Chunnin Exams/Konoha Crush, Akatsuki, and the Time Skip; while also rewriting these to fit the story of the characters available in the forum. This is what I could call a revisionist history written from the perspective of Ciro himself, rather than the hard canon of the story. Anything else, would be impossible.
Originally Ciro was created as attempt to play with the idea of child soldiers and the seriousness of the topic in the Naruto universe, with traumas so deep that they are unaware to the victims themselves. Sadly, it ended up being a bit too pretentious, so at some point I just started having fun instead.
Ciro was originally created as an amalgam of different characters I liked at the time: Loke (Fairy Tail), Ryner Lute; and a lot of Nasuverse lore. The original version of Ciro happened in a Roleplay Forum in the late 2000s/early 2010s, and a lot of the lore created for Ciro were my attempts to bridge the "Game rules" and the inner lore of the forum together, and modernize it enough to be palpable for me.
