Well...ex superior depending on where in the timeline you are. Sasori took Tokisa as both a student and his personal spy after Deidara blew his arms up.

Rebuilt by Sasori, Tokisa is a Suna native turned spy. As a shinobi he works as a jonin sniper, as well as a mechanic. Toki can often be found in his workshop fine tuning various gadgets. His prosthetic arms are controlled by Suna's puppet techniques, the chakra strings running along the inside of his arms.
Toki has medium-length blonde hair that he wears up in a short ponytail. He has green eyes. After his arms were blown off in one of Deidara's explosions, he sports two metal prosthetics that he controls with Suna's puppetry technique. Said arms can split open, revealing two blades that when connected together become a bow he can use for long-range attacks. Because his prosthetics, Tokisa does not wear shirts very often. It's hard to pull them over the mechanics of his arms. So instead, he tends to wear light armor or harnesses.

Tokisa appears to be outgoing, friendly, and just a man who loves to have a good time. However, after his accident he is very resentful and is truly hates most people. He's just very good at hiding it. In truth, he's probably very annoyed by whatever conversation you're having and that he forces himself to pay attention to it so that you will think he actually gives a damn.

Isa Tokisa was born and raised in Sunakagura. Tragedy did not strike him until later in life. Toki was actually a very popular student in the academy. From an early age, he showed great promise. He became a genin a year earlier than the rest of his classmates and not long after that his entire team passed the chunin exams with flying colors. Toki became the natural leader of his team. And on top of that, Toki was considered to be very attractive among his peers. A handsome flirt who basically had it all. Yes, he was on track for great things.
Until he wasn't.
One day, Toki and his team went out on a mission to the neighboring country. It was supposed to be just a simple escort mission. Their escortee wasn't even that big of a target. Unfortunately for Toki and the rest of his team, they stumbled into the wrong place at the wrong time. Unknown to them, they walked right into Sasori and Deidara when they were gathering intel for the Akatsuki. Grunt work that put both of them into a very bad mood.
So what happened? Well of course the explosion specialist decided to create a new art piece. Toki's team got into a skirmish with the two Akatsuki members, of which none of them were even remotely qualified. As talented as he was, Toki knew that these disgraced ninjas outclassed them by miles. Still, there wasn't really an escape. The team was bombarded with explosives that turned the terrain into a mine field. Toki did the leaderly thing and managed to get his two teammates to safety. In doing so, he was caught in the blast.
In an instant, Tokisa's arms were blown clean off. Forcing himself to his knees, he screamed to his teammates. He had just saved both of them...and both of them definitely looked right at him. They knew he was still alive. And... they still turned and ran like cowards, leaving Toki for dead. There were more explosions and everything faded to black for Toki.
When Toki woke up again, he was on Sasori's table with various metal instruments jammed into the holes that were once his shoulders. The puppet master was surprised that Toki managed to survive the damage. He could have easily finished the job right then and there, but Sasori took a special interest in him. Maybe it was because he came from the same home village or the fact that Sasori currently had forceps jammed inside him without Toki crying out in searing pain, but Sasori saw something special. It wasn't the same type of special that his village had seen when they thought Toki was going to rise in the rankings. A different kind of a special. Spy potential.
Seeing the anger in Toki's eyes from being betrayed by his teammates, Sasori played into that. He repaired Toki's body, using special metal he had been saving for a different project. Suna was already known for puppetry. Toki's new prosthetics would go mostly unnoticed. Sasori simply gained Tokisa's loyalty and instructed him on what to say if anyone were to ever question who built his new arms.
When Tokisa returned, he was changed for the worst. Boy was his team stunned to see him walk through Suna's gates. After months of thinking he was dead, Toki was back in every way that mattered. Of course, Tokisa was questioned thoroughly. One does not simply die and then come back to life, especially not after months. Toki's story was well rehearsed though. He passed with flying colors, even when approached by someone who could detect lies with his ninjutsu. After a rough interrogation, Toki was free to return to his team.
From there, Toki laid low. He acted like his usual self. He pretended like he forgave his team, cheerful as always despite his new appearance. In reality, he hated them. All of them. Toki no longer trusted anyone to have his back. The only person he had any loyalty to was Sasori, who had spared him from certain death. Toki was now a full-fledged spy for the puppet master. As he became a specialized jonin, a sniper, he continued to collection information for Sasori. Even when other spies were inevitably caught, Toki remained due to his charming attitude, able to talk away anyone's doubt in him.
Eventually, Sasori was killed during the assault on Suna. In that chaos, Tokisa was able to slip through the cracks, able to avoid detection and hide away again. Toki could have ran away and worked under Deidara instead. But...he hated that bastard. His stupid art is what ruined his body. Instead, he remained in Suna. He continued to gather information for a fee to those who sought it while also continuing his regular duties as a Suna shinobi.
