Hachidori Yūhi

Yūhi Hachidori is originally from Konahagakura. She is actually Kurenai Sensei's cousin on her father's side. Hachi was named after hummingbirds. They were very abundant outside her family home. Hachi's childhood up to age five wasn't too noteworthy. Her family was very loving for the most part, and like other children in the hidden leaf, she was looking forward to joining the ninja academy. Things changed when she finally started going to school...

That's when Hachidori met Uchiha Shunkan. He had mostly gone unnoticed at the academy despite being a Uchiha. They started academy a year after Uchiha Itachi who was considering a genius. That left Shun free from expectations...and gave him more time to goof off. At first, Hachi started following Shunkan because she was annoyed by his rule breaking. Eventually, she followed him because after getting a taste of his mischief she genuinely liked him.

One day when out exploring the creak, Shunkan heard an animal cry and went to find it. Naturally, Hachi followed. That's when they found Kumo. The little kitty was trapped in a snare just outside of Konaha. Shun freed it but Kumo...well Kumo hated Shunkan at first for who knows what reason. Shun was never good with animals. Instead, the cub took to Hachi immediately.

Over the years Hachi actually became a known troublemaker along with Shun and now Kumo within the Uchiha compound. They would often pull pranks together. It was all in good fun though, nothing malicious on their part. They were constantly being scrutinized by Shisui and Itachi, much to the latter's annoyance. They had much better thing to do then to deal with Shunkan's pranks. Shisui thought it was funny.

They don't quite know when it happened, but the two children ended up falling for each other. It was an innocent type of love. Hachidori and Shunkan snuck out more often, but not so much for pranks anymore. They would often just lay in the grass together, watching stars and talking about any little troubles. Even Kumo approved of this relationship but would lay between them. He was still protective of Hachi.

When they were twelve, it happened. They kissed. Everything was perfect in the moment. Their first kiss was on the roof of Shun's home. The very next day, strange things started happening...starting with Shisui's death. Following that, there was a eerie ambiance radiating from the Uchiha compound. It got harder and harder for Shun to sneak out, even harder yet for Hachi to go see him. It was almost as if them kissing had cursed everything. Or at least, that's what Hachidori was starting to think.

The Night of the Uchiha Massacre... Hachidori and Kumo jumped the wall into the Uchiha compound. There, they were met with a terrifying scene. Bodies. Everywhere. Hachi could have run back the way she came, but she instead ran to find Shunkan instead. In the distance she could hear someone screaming but she ignored that and ran for Shun's house. As soon as she entered, Hachi was met with a gruesome sight. Shunkan had been no match for his attackers. He tried to defend his family, his body laying a few feet away from the bodies of his parents and younger siblings. His eyes were wide open, his sharingan activated into a pattern Hachi wasn't familiar with. She must have barely missed the attack. His blood was still warm and the sharingan deactivated while she was looking at him.

Peeking out of the doorway, Kumo stopped her. She saw someone rip the eyes out of another body in the street. Hachidori didn't much about the sharingan other than a few random tidbits that Shun had told her. She watched the figure walk to the next body. Eventually they stopped and turned towards her. That is when Kumo saved the day, running out of the house to distract the person. In that moment, Hachi decided to steal Shun's eyes before whoever that was could.

When it was discovered that Itachi had killed the Uchiha clan, Hachidori walked away from the village. She wasn't sure what she wanted from him. Vengeance maybe? Possible. More so, Hachi just wanted to know why. She went on her own quest to track Itachi with a now injured Kumo. Kumo had gotten into a fight with the figure she assumed was Itachi. Blinded, Hachi gave Kumo Shun's eyes. Kumo would have gotten bigger naturally, but something about the sharingan made the cub grow even larger than he should have.

Hachi spent years tracking Itachi and fighting him every chance she got. Many times, she barely escaped with her life. She became a missing-nin in the process. Committing crimes just enough to get by. She often accepted bounties, hunting down whoever she was told do. It didn't really matter where they were from or if they were good or bad. As long as Hachi got paid, she could continue to survive. Without Shun in her life, she didn't have any joy. Everything she did was just for her pursuit of answers.

When Itachi died, Hachidori lost purpose again. She still sought answers that didn't really lead anywhere. She followed Uchiha Sasuke around at a distance for a while, knowing the was seeking similar answers. However, the war kept her away and busy and she was never able to learn the truth he eventually acquired.
