Overview
Description — Yami no kaihō is a combined nature transformation Kekkei Genkai that allows the user to control not only their own shadows, but surrounding shadows of people or objects, as well as create shadows out of darkness. It is known for being extremely powerful during the night, as the yin energy is stronger. People with Yami no kaihō can travel huge distances in seconds depending on the level of mastery they have on the Kekkei Genkai. They are also able to heal chakra illnesses, unblock chakra points, and undo curses. How to activate — - People of the Kageyama Clan usually awakened the Kekkei Genkai between the ages of 7 & 10. It is possible to be awakened before or after said ages, but it is extremely rare, and depending on how early or late they awakened, their progress can be different from the people of the same ages that awakened before or after them. - When the Kekkei Genkai awakens, the clan members fall into a deep sleep. They need to be surrounded by complete darkness & have their anchor around them. Their anchor is usually a family member until the age of 20 years old, and which usually changes to their partner/significant other. Without their anchor around to talk them through the process, kids can be fully engulfed in the darkness, and might never wake up. There have been multiple records of kids unable to be guided through the darkness of their minds, resulting in dying while experiencing the awakening. - Records say that multiple clan members described the experiences as seeing nothing but black until they hear the voices of their anchor (usually mother or father), when a small bulb of light appears and guides them towards consciousness. Strengths — - Healing abilities (specifically chakra related illnesses) - Combat power (shadows used as weapons/extension of the body) - Sensory related jutsus (can notice other chakra's approaching from long distances) - Speed (known to be some of the fastest people in the Shinobi world) - Stealth Weakness/Limitations — - Every clan members' shadow has its own consciousness that is being controlled by the feelings of the possessor. Usually, negative feelings can make it go loose, and regaining control of it can be a challenge. - If users with Stage I or II of the Kekkei Genkai try to use jutsus meant for Stages II or III, respectively, can be completely consumed by their own shadow OR will forever be trapped in the Darkness of their mind. - Due to the Kekkei Genkai needing constant meditation and light isolation, the users' immune system is weakened more and more depending on the Stage the user unlocks. - Once they unlock Stage III, they are more prone to chakra illness & curses (especially when they heal someone with a chakra illness/curse). How does it differ from the Nara Clan? The Nara clan were once members of the Kageyama clans, however they were born with less chakra and not being able to unlock the Kekkei Genkai; yet very intelligent. It was because of them that the Kageyama clan found out that people outside of their clan, if their Yin chakra was high enough, they could master some of the Yami no kaihō jutsus. Through the years, the people unable to use Yami no kaihō ended up being more than the ones who awakened it, so they decided to separate. They maintained a very close and amicable relationship; and the Kageyama's made sure to always protect the Naras' if they needed it their protection.
Trivia
- The idea came to me when I was thinking how the Nara clan would be like if they had a shadows Kekkei Genkai instead of secret jutsus they meant to keep hidden.
