Yūrei Clan

Clan Rebirth: Formerly a psychological tactic, the Yurei would obfuscate or discard their true name in exchange for a (typically ghastly) moniker as a means to shed their 'human identity' and inspire fear in their enemies. This is now considered a rite of passage that can happen at any age, but is most often determined by the time they become Chunin and settle on a combative theme. The clan celebrates the member's 'rebirth' with an informal debut; a day is spent in reflection, burning incense while purging one's name from former records, then ending with a new introduction and exultant meal in the clan's communal dining hall.
