Early history

Originally from somewhere in the Land of Lightning, the Kougetsu clan migrated to the Land of Fire during the Warring States Period, escaping conflict. They eventually formed an alliance with the Sarutobi clan due to their political influence, and, in exchange, they offered the devastating power of their Kekkei Genkai. This led to them being known as the "Sarutobi's Guard Dogs" among other clans from the Land of Fire. They joined Konoha after it was founded.
