A Konohagakure clan and one of the oldest clans in the region. They were known pacifists and didn't involve themselves with clan wars during the Warring States Period, and were virtually untouchable due to their status as healers. Because of their Kekkei Genkai, they formed an alliance with the Hyūga clan, and eventually joined Konohagakure upon its foundation.

The Kengou clan was established sometime before the height of the Warring States Period and actively stayed neutral on any and all conflicts. They eventually formed an alliance with the Hyūga clan, which was mutually beneficial. The Hyūga clan taijutsu is useless against the Kengou clan Kekkei Genkai, and they possessed great knowledge of the human body, which interested the Kengou clan.
After Tsunade officially established the medical-nin system in Konoha, the Kengou clan members became an integral part of it. When Tsunade left Konoha, they started managing the Hospital and overlooked the training of future medical-nin.
