The Raikouchi are one of the founding, noble clans of Kumogakure. People born from the thunder itself as legend states— their money and resources have kept the clan in the highest rankings of the village and both helped start it and support it. They’re a clan of tradition and fate — and who refuse to let their members defy it.

The Raikouchi do not believe in choice. From birth most of your life is dictated— from job to marriage. The clan head and the elders decide everything—- you’re just another cog in the machinery of the clan.
A Raikouchi child is not named until they are a year old. An elaborate naming ceremony is held by the clan— where the child is gifted a pair of steel earrings from the clan head. The naming ceremony also includes a ritual to see if the child was born with Kaminarijomyaku. A prick of their finger with the clan ceremonial knife— the knife will spark if the infant has it. Children born with their kekkei genkei are monitored heavily from here on. Those without it are mostly ignored— and their parents are encouraged to try again. After this they are mostly left alone, kekkei genkei or not, at least until the age of five.
Every Raikouchi child is expected to join the academy of Kumogakure at the age of five. Prior to starting the academy they are gifted another set of earrings (if they have the kekkei genkei)— and the clan elders perform a ritual to test to see the potential of their Kaminarijomyaku. After this the elders and clan head will have a meeting. By the end of the year the child will have a marriage arranged based on their own potential and genetics— the match will always be someone that the clan believes will either produce an even stronger Kaminarijomyaku or someone outside of the clan who will elevate the clan in another way. (Alliances, etc.)
When someone from the clan graduates they are given a final pair of earrings. From here on, once they rank to Chunin, they replace their first set with a more elaborate set of earrings. This repeats when they become Jounin as well.
Clan members are expected to wed at the age of eighteen. At their wedding their new spouse is expected to give them an elaborate, decorative set of earrings to wear— as well as wedding bands. The Raikouchi member is expected to gift their spouse this as well.
Privacy is valued little in the clan— and individualism even less. Everyone is expected to better the clan— to make sure their reputation upholds. If you stray… well. The stronger your Kaminarijomyaku is the more you can get away with.

Men of the family almost always have names starting with a K.
Kumogakure knows them as ruthless and cut throat— and traditional people with money to back up anything they want. The other villages know them as the suppliers and money bags of Kumogakure— and dangerous people who can get away with practically anything because of their money— and because of the fact they’re one of the few clans with a kekkei genkei inside the village. They’re also quite revered due to this fact and their large chakra reserve. While it’s not a doujutsu— it’s still something that the other villages don’t have.
