Shikamori Nara

Shikamori Nara is a former shinobi from Konohagakure and part of the Nara Clan, as well as a former member of Team Jūri. Mori, as he more commonly likes to be referred to, is a major bookworm and has a vested interest in the history of his clan. Being in the middle of the misfits and popular kids sort of schism going on within his class, he preferred not to be on either side to avoid any unnecessary harassment or aggression. However, he does have friendships on both sides such as with Keiichi Inuzuka and Kaiko Aburame. Ultimately, he decides after the chunin exams that he isn't particularly fit for shinobi life and retires, opting to become a lorekeeper for the Nara Clan instead and take over for the old and ailing gramps who was formerly in the spot.
