Being in control of the tailed beast, and a Jinchuriki, Nekomi became a shinobi for Kumogakure, and with that her time in Matatabi Shrine came to a stop. She still visited when she had the time, however she was mostly on missions, so her visits were very few.
When her brother retired from the Raikage position and his bodyguard took the role, she became the second-in-command, or rather an advisor for the Raikage, and she helped him work towards building peace between the villages, except Konohagakure. Nekomi was the reason behind the attack of the Gold and Silver Brothers during the meeting between the Second Hokage and Raikage. The reason the brothers weren't affected by the events was because she took all the blame, and due to her reasoning, Kumogakure ended up fighting against Konohagakure during the First War.
During the first war, her brother also fought, and he ended up dying. Nekomi blamed herself for it. Few years later, the Second Raikage died unnaturally, and A became the Third Raikage the same year his son was born. During his time, more and more people try to become the Jinchuriki of the Eighth Tailed beast but none succeed until B was chosen.
During the second war, Kumogakure didn't involve themselves, however they get framed for trying to kidnap the Nine tailed Jinchuriki, which was nothing but a lie. The relationship between the two villages became even more tense, but before Kumogakure could even attempt to do anything, the war ended.
Due to old age, Nekomi suggested that she should retire, and go back to where she spent most of her childhood. She promised that she would train the new Matatabi Jinchuriki as much as she could, and she was allowed to rest. (There was a rumour in Kumogakure that the woman was slowly going insane, however the rumour died down very fast as she didn't seem anywhere close to insanity when she interacted with people. There is always some truth to a rumor, though, and it was true that her mind was starting to play with her due to the amount of times she used the Spirit Possession Jutsu.)
After she retied, another war began, where she didn't involve herself in, however she understood where the Third Raikage was coming from, after the false accusations. During that war, the Third Raikage died, and his son took his place.
Nekomi died one year later.
