Hiromu met Itsumi when he was still working at the Kazekage library. He helped her study, and she just kinda stuck around. Hiromu started considering her an actual friend after she told him sincerely what happened to his brother during that mission.

Hiromu is a Sunagakure citizen, born chakra-less in a clan renowned for their elite Shinobis. He picks up books as a last resort to fit inside the clan, but not even that works out, so he leaves. At 29 years old, he becomes the Kazekage Aide.
Hiromu has dark purple hair.. He leaves his hair long (almost touching the ground) and ties it at the bottom. He has heterochromia, his left eye is light blue while his right eye is reddish pink. He has been using a cane since he was 15 years old because he had always had trouble with maintaining balance.

Hiromu was dressed in a simple white shirt and some black shorts. His parents never bothered to actually buy him clothes, so he usually ended up with hand-downs from his older brothers
He wears a black kimono, with a red ribbon around his neck, and a red long sleeved shirt underneath it. He is usually seen walking around the village with a big hat that has a long veil around it, protecting him from the sand.
Butler looking attire
Hiromu is a cold yet noble person. He stands for what he believes is right and just. Many would call him weak due to being born chakra-less. However, despite that, Hiromu stayed strong and had a clear view of what he wanted with his future. Despite the many challenges he had to face, or the protests of his family, he never backed down, nor did he lose his purpose. Hiromu is known to not be a people person. He prefers his alone time with a scroll in hand, learning anything that is to learn. He never backs down in front of questions he doesn’t have answers to, rather Hiromu quite loves when he has more questions than answers, because it means that there are more things to learn. Even though he tries to stay away from rich/privileged people, Hiromu loves helping those in need. Specifically those who don’t know the arts of writing and learning. He offers to teach young kids, or even adults who can let their pride go in the face of a twenty year old teacher.

Hiromu tends to make his statements sound like questions, sometimes, due to asking a lot of questions while he is learning.
He speaks to himself, and reads out loud even if people are around, because he isn’t used to that.

His Father
His mother had the easiest time when she gave birth to Himoru. At first, people believed it was because she was at her third natural birth, yet they realised that it was also the fact that Hiromu had no chakra, so during his birth, his body wasn’t feeding on his mother’s chakra like any other normal ninja. The easy and happy day of his birth slowly became one of the worst days the clan has ever seen.
His birth became a taboo in the clan shortly after. His family, including his mother, started treating him like he didn’t exist, which, by his fifth birthday, because of him trying very hard to catch their attention, ended up turning to abuse. His father being the one that started it, and his older brothers following right after.
Hiromu soon realised he was nothing but a burden for his family and clan, and believed that if he managed to achieve something great, his parents would finally be able to love him — so he turned towards books and scrolls, and all that. It wasn’t long when he realised it was all pointless; all his hard work was just seen as futile.
By the time he was twelve years old, he had learned more than any twelve year old could, and was seen as one of the smartest people in Sunagakure, except his father immediately shut down that rumor.
No matter how hard he tried, how hard he worked, the abuse never stopped. It became harder and harder for him to even hold a pen, or find books to read. Until he got a job at the Kazekage building library when he was 20 years old. His clan was totally against that idea, but Hiromu went against them anyway since he had no other choice if he wanted to escape the clan’s abuse.
During the time he worked as a librarian, he met Itsumi Kōtsukage. Hiromu noticed Itsumi was struggling to understand some of the things she was trying to learn, so he offered his help. Somehow, after all that help, he found himself kind of stuck in a ‘not that good of a friend but still someone friends’ situation.
For the next nine years of his life, Hiromu lived for himself, away from abuse. He managed to escape the life that made him feel useless; or so he thought.
When he was 29 years old, he was invited by his father to have dinner at home. Uncommon, unnecessary, ‘Danger’ written all over the invitation; but he had no reason to refuse. At first, the dinner was normal (if he could call it normal, he never experienced a normal family dinner). Then, at the end, when his mother took all the dishes in the kitchen, his father made him an offer. ‘Work as the Kazekage aide.’
The last he remembered, the Kazekage was dead, and they didn’t name anyone as the heir yet; Hiromu wanted to bet his money on the girl, Temari, if he could.
‘Gaara will need a lot of help once he takes the hat.’ That was the moment Hiromu finally looked at his father for the first time that whole night.
Gaara. He knew that name. The twelve year old that killed people since he could breathe (or so the rumours say). The kid that people called a monster, a danger. He couldn’t bring himself to understand what was the point of his father sending a normal civilian as his aid. It was basically a death sentence.
Oh.
‘Help us control that kid, and when the time comes, use him for our own good.’
He wasn’t given a choice, he realised instantly. It was either ‘die by Gaara’s hand’, or by his father’s hand. Hiromu wasn’t someone who was going to accept something like that ever again, so he said he’ll do it.
Against his father's wishes, once Hiromu met Gaara, the two of them managed to come to a compromise. He was honest on how he got the position, and had told Gaara that he didn’t wish to be a paw in someone’s game of chess. That alone made Gaara accept his help, and made sure to offer him protection.
Hiromu and Gaara bonded faster than expected, and it didn’t take the elders long to realise that their plan had failed. Once Gaara’s position as the Kazekage was finally officialized, Hiromu’s life was no longer in danger.
One year passed with not much happening, until Itsumi came to him to deliver some news. She told him that her spirit ‘went out of control’ which ended up killing his younger brother. Her choice of words told him all he needed to know. He helped her cover up that incident as a mere mistake and loss of control.
During the Gaara’s kidnapping, Hiromu took over the Kazekage job, hoping it would only be for a few days. He never felt more useless in his life, even back when he was living with his family. However, he knew that he would only be a burden if he would try to do anything other than look over the village — he knew that Gaara would’ve wanted him to do that while he had gone missing.
During the Fourth Shinobi War, he was put as the Commander for the Sunagakure protection, and he did all he could to keep the village intact. After the war, he was told that absolutely none of his family members survived, and that he could potentially become the new Mitsunaga head.
At first, he wanted to refuse, but he realised that he could take it a step further and reform the whole clan. If another child like him is born, he could make sure the child wouldn’t have to go through the same things as him.

Hiromu doesn't believe in fate or destiny. He was never taught how to fight/protect himself, yet he read enough books to be able to command people on the battlefield. He learned a lot about poisons as an act of self defense.
