Hiiragi Morino

Hiiragi is the only son of Ibiki Morino and Yasumi. When he was eight years old, he lost his mother to a mission—a mission his father was on as well. Ibiki couldn't save his mother, no matter how hard he tried, but he carries the guilt with him. Hiiragi, however, doesn't hold any blame for his father, knowing Ibiki did everything in his power to keep his mom alive.

Yasumi is the reason Hiiragi took a shining to medical ninjutsu, and he's worked hard to follow in his mother's footsteps. He keeps her old medical ninjutsu notes around and reads and rereads them so he can be the best medic he can be. He loves being able to help people and keep them as healthy as possible.

When Hiiragi was made a genin at 10, he started his shinobi career on a team with a sensei named Tōkō. She was a medical nin of her own right, but she never got to teach him much before she succumbed to an illness. His other two teammates decided to not continue their career as a shinobi and left him in need of a team. Hiruzen places him temporarily on Ibiki's team for their next mission, due to the loss of Ryouichi after he physically harmed Tsukiya. However, the temporary placement becomes permanent due to how well the three of them got along.

In The Hidden Beast, Hiiragi starts his Intelligence career off with a mission to the Kingdom of Auroras with Tsukiya, Ibiki, and Sakumo. Little did he know, his skills would be necessary to keep Tsukiya as comfortable as possible after they have the beast sealed within them. Nor did he expect to have to defend them from greedy shinobi who wants a piece of Tsukiya and their beast. He fought valiantly against them and landed the killing blow to the two spies, telling them they had no right harming Tsukiya. When they get back to the village, Hiiragi continues to do stuff at the Intelligence Ward but does everything he can to wait for Tsukiya so they're not too far behind, because he wanted them to work together.

After the invasion of Pein, in Root Problems, Tsukiya becomes the temporary Root leader, and Hiiragi becomes their assistant and bodyguard. Not that Danzō had expected anything less of him, given how close Hiiragi is to Tsukiya. He supports them throughout the entire ordeal, from bringing them lunches and coffee to being the shoulder they need to cry on. He also spends time helping Sakumo and Murasaki around the house, with Tsukiya spending so much time at Root and with Kakashi on a mission to stop Sasuke.

After the 4th Shinobi War, in Castle of Glass, Hiiragi decides to take the next big step in the relationship with Tsukiya—move in with them, since Kakashi was now Hokage. And while Tsukiya spends time as a temporary sit-in for Kakashi, Hiiragi stands in as their assistant and messenger.

After Danzō body hops Sakumo, and after Tsukiya faints from performing too many long scans on not only Sakumo but Danzō in Sakumo's body, Hiiragi has the idea to have Ino take Danzō's spirit out of Sakumo's body. This is so that Ino could take his knowledge by force and give Hiiragi and Ibiki the answers they need to figure out more about Sakumo's resurrection so that Sakumo finally has the answers he's been looking for.

After finding out that Tsukiya's mother was after them, he brought the message across the village to be on the look out for Setsuna. However, he came face-to-face with Setsuna who demanded to know where Tsukiya was. Hiiragi refused to answer. Setsuna started deriding and making fun of the fact that Tsukiya was non-binary, that there was no way Kakashi could ever love Tsukiya the way Setsuna did, and Hiiragi wasn't taking it. He defended his partner and their family, and he fought Setsuna. Unfortunately, she sent him to the hospital with a nasty wound and left him unable to fight for the rest of the story.

Towards the climax, Hiiragi proposes to Tsukiya with a black fire opal necklace that he had made for her.

Hiiragi is tall and muscular, standing at about 6'4" at his full adult height. He has a slightly chiseled face resembling Ibiki's, but he has softer, gentler eyes than his father. On the right side of his face is an x-shaped scar earned from the same mission that resulted in Shion's death. Just like his father did as a child, Hiiragi has messy, short warm silver hair with bangs that fall over his hitai-ate.
