• mutation keeps spreading which causes fear that it might not stop & is the reason she goes with Orochimaru after his attempt to get itachis eyes fails (Yena is 20 at this point)
• due to struggeling with her strong empathy she ends up developing a meds that numb emotions and ends up abusing them from this point onward
• takes up a leading role in Orochimarus Lab, ends up being somewhat of a big sister to Kimimaro and later on also Jūgo (bonding over nature, calming with singing; fitting for bird mutant)
• she tries working on a cure for Kimimaro but due to there never being an official statement in regards to his sickness not even her meta knowledge can help
• joins Kimimaro as he is sent out to help retrieve Sasuke, does not join the fight again Naruto or Lee (Yena is 27)
• she managed to find something that would prolong Kimimaros Life but at the cost of his abilities, she offers it to him shortly after Gaara arrives but Kimimaro ends up picking out
the adrenalin stimulants instead injecting her which causes her to activate her kekei genkai for the first time
• being overwhelmed by the drug and activation she is rather out of it, manages to safe Lee from getting killed though, giving Gaara a better chance at surviving Kimimaros attacks (who also took the drug)
• devistated after his death, she hands over the medicine she made to Lee telling him to give it to Konohas Med nins; in an effort to erase her "almost betrayal"
• once Kabuto arrives to pick up Kimimaros body she goes with him, revealing that she activated a keikei genkai she did not know she had
• comes down with a fever after this which is why she does not go with Orochimaru & Kabuto as they hunt down Tsunade
• arrives late to the fight after waking up (took adrenalin stimulants again to ease pain and making her able to fly to the fight), she uses her healing song for the first time to safe
Kabuto and Orochimaru; this is her second time seeing Naruto and her first time being confronted with Tsunade and Jiraiya
• they return to the laboratory, she is seen as loyal to Orochimaru
• during this whole time she has secretly kept in contact with Konan
Akt II: Shippuden (Attack on Konoha)
• During the early Shippuden era, Yena actively participates in missions for the Sound. She briefly intercepts and holds off Team Yamato (Naruto, Sakura, Sai, Yamato) the day they came to find Sasuke, since she knew of their arrival she prepared specific traps (including one that harshly demisihes chakra flow) capturing Naruto for a brief moment. She missunderstood a message from Konan thinking Akatsuki was on their way, after realising that was a mistake she ends up freeing Naruto and lets the team proceed to meet Sasuke
• Yena is present when Sasuke turns on a weakened Orochimaru and seemingly kills him. Standing in the blood-splattered room, she gives Kabuto a crucial, calculated hint about utilizing Orochimaru’s cellular remains, subtly nudging him toward his future Sage-Mode evolution.
• With Orochimaru "dead," Yena uses the tactical window to return to Amegakure. She formally reunites with Akatsuki, where she finally confides in Konan. She reveal her knowledge of future events, being vague about where her knowledge came from though, more so implying it felt like something she experienced before or some type of dream. Konan was sceptical at first, though wanting to trust her close friend of almost 20 years.
• The day Jiraiya plans to infiltrate Amegakure she meets him at the boarder to warn him, but he has no reason to trust her. She reveals specific knowledge to him, but he doesn't waver from his plan. Having anticipated that she gives him a pill that would assist in faking his death and tells him to take it if the need arises.
• It goes acording to plan, Jiraiya almost dies, sending his final message to Konoha. Due to him taking the drug Nagato (& Obito) assume him to be dead. She manages to fish him out of the ocean , hiding him in a secret underground basement setup beneath Ame, nursing him into a medically induced coma.
• Jiraiya remains hidden while Pain (Nagato) launches his devastating assault on Konohagakure. Yena is summoned to the battle field to heal Pain, which she does, after being told to stand back with Konan the two head to Nagatos hiding place. After Naruto defeats the Paths and confronts Nagato in his tree hideout, Yena & Konan step in with the advanced medical countermeasures. Instead of letting Nagato sacrifice his life via the Gedo Rinne Tensei, they save him from the brink of death, stabilizing his failing heart.
• Konan trusted Yena despite her doubts, but by now fully believes in her words due to predicting the event with Jiraiya and the attack on Konoha correctly.
• After returning to Amegakure and leaving Nagato hidden with a now awoken Jiraiya the two women go to prevent Obito from stealing the Rinnegan. Working together they manage to capture him, using Yenas by now developed sealing jutsu. They keep him alive but captured to prevent him from being used by Zetsu who barely escapes the scene.
• During Jiraiya’s long weeks of recovery in the cramped underground hideout, a unique, bickering, yet deeply trusted bond develops between the healing Sannin and the exhausted Yena (who spends this time highly abusing meds as to manage helping Nagato and Konan during the day and curing Jiraiya at night). Intimate, confusing moments happen such as a memorable, awkward conversation about biological personal space & the meaning of "kabe-don", in the kitchen, sparking unconfessed feelings that she fiercely tries to suppresses.
Akt III: Shippuden (Salvation of Sasuke)
• After Itachis death, Sasuke made Konoha his new goal. Zetsu told him about the Kage Meeting and about the fact that Yena captured Obito. He lies to Team Taka making them believe
that Yena is working with Danzo to capture the left over Sharingan
• Taking 24h of rest Yena makes her way to the meeting, confronting Team Taka shortly before they reach the area. She tries to seal Zetsu but fails due to Sasuke attacking her. She manages to confince him however, that she also wants Danzo dead and offers a plan to lure him out with herself as the scapegoat.
• Due to Danzo wanting to capture her ever since he learned of her existance through Sai, the plan works and they are able to isolate Danzo and his two bodyguards. Yena seals off the area together with Karin to prevent any noise from alerting the other Kage, the fight continues till Danzo uses his final move to pull them into death with him.
• As planned, Karin moves the seal to prevent Danzos Jutsu from pulling to much around him, everyone jumps out of reach except Sasuke who is still caught in his anger. Yena barely manages to harshly push him, causing both of them to roll out of the area.
• Sakura arrives and sees them together, making a wrong connection in her head despite Yena deniying as much. Sakura still tries to go after Sasuke and gets almost killed before Kakashi and Naruto intervene.
While Naruto fights Sasuke, the Rest of Team Taka and Yena fend of Kakashi and Sakura, under the instruction of Yena to not kill them.
• As the fight draws to a close the Kage arrive on scene. Yena leaves a hidden message for Naruto and Kakashi before teleporting Team Taka to Amegakure and to safety. Sasuke asks her to fix his eyes, which she agrees to but tells them to rest for now, she spends a few days resting herself after using almost all of her chakra to bring them to safety.
• Kakashi and Naruto learn of the hidden message which suggests a meeting at the border of amegakure and kusagakure. She also left a hint on how to help Tsunade.
• She meets Kakashi and Naruto as planned, in company of Jiraiya who was transformed into a toad. Naruto first interprets this gesture as mocking him, his pain and their lose; till Jiraiya reveales himself as alive.
They tell them that they have their own plans but that they should make sure that Amegakure is no longer seen as part of the Enemy.
• After the transplantation of Itachis eyes Sasuke can see again and awakens the endless mangekyou sharingan. Yena proposes that they go meet Kabuto who would help him learn the truth
by reviving the Kage with Edo Tensei.
• Sasuke learns the truth and vows to protect what his brother wanted to protect, losing his hate for Konoha and deciding to join the fight under Amegakure/Yena.
• They prepare for the final battle, clothing themselves in new blue Coats with Amegakure Headbands. To make their alliance to him clear, Jiraiya also decides to take off his former headband and outfit.
• Due to Yenas former warning, Kabuto does not fully trust Zetsu nor his plan and manipulates the Edo Tensei before reviving Madara as to not lose his hold on him.
Akt IV: Shippuden (The 4th Shinobi World War)
• Perched on a desert cliff during the climax of the war, Yena mathematically calculates that Black Zetsu will ambush her from behind. She cold-bloodedly decides to take the hit to seal him permanently, keeping Jiraiya entirely in the dark about her tactic because she knows his protective instincts would ruin her script.
• Her calculation is right, but she underestimates Jiraiyas reflexes. Just as Zetsu breaks through the rock to pierce her heart, Jiraiya hurls his massive body between them. His elbow strike shatters the cliffside, sending Zetsu fleeing. A furious argument erupts, Yena rages that he ruined the ambush, while Jiraiya screams that he won't stand by and watch her use herself as cannon fodder.
• Jiraiya grabs her tightly by the shoulders, forcing eye contact. "Don’t be stupid, girl! You think I’m just gonna stand by and watch you get yourself killed?!" Confounded by an intense wave of shame, a guilty conscience, and her own hidden affection, Yena cannot bear his gaze. She deflects by weakly pointing out his own near-death experiences, telling him he shouldn't play the hero. He let's go of her and they focus back on the battle below.
• As she follows his gaze towards the battle field, she suddenly wonders if she was just a "girl" or a tool to Jiraiya compared to his lifelong, melancholic love for Tsunade. With shock she realises that she might actually have fallen in love. Deeply ashamed of potentially missunderstand what they had and her underweight, drug-abused body, Yena's mind fractures. She injects her hidden Emotion Suppressor, instantly freezing her empathy. She exclaims that she is not "a girl" (but a women) and that she will not miss the next shot, before leaving him behind. [Authors note: this confrontation is rooted in the fact that Yena puts heavy empathise on words and even though it was a random saying like "bro" she feels overly hurt by it]
• Reaching the final battlefield with stage-1 of her Curse Mark active, Yena acts as a soulless machine. She tricks Madara and Zetsu by offering a calculated trade: she will hand over a sealed, helpless Obito Uchiha if Madara guarantees the full resurrection of Orochimaru, claiming she wants her old master back as a co-ruler.
• Naruto is horrified by her apparent betrayal and screams at her, providing the perfect, authentic alibi for Madara. Sasuke, however, recognizes her drug-induced state, keeps his mouth shut. As Black Zetsu eagerly surfaces to merge with Obito, Yena’s sealing claw snaps shut flawlessly, pinning Zetsu to the flesh, while Kabuto uses the distraction to deactivate Madara’s Edo Tensei.
• She hands Obito over to Naruto declaring him a present just as Jiraiya arrives, before telling Kabuto that they should leave, back to the place where they belong, not leaving their master waiting. They depart before anyone can stop them
• Konan joins the scene, voicing her confusion over Yenas Departure as bringing back Orochimaru was an option "only if needed" step and seemed unnecessary now that they had won. She questions what had happend between her and Jiraiya.
• Jiraiya wants to go after her in a hurry but Konan stops him and tells him he should consider his true feelings before doing anything, hinting that he should make up his mind about his past and future.
• Weeks later, the drugs leave her system in the deepest lab of the Sound. For a fleeting second, Yena feels a small, painful spark of hope that Jiraiya will follow her blue feathers. When the light stays dark and no one comes, her brain pulls the emergency brake. Her overthinking mind builds a permanent psychological block. Even without drugs, her emotions freeze from within, declaring her feelings "useless garbage that died in the war."
Akt V: Laboratory & Otogakure
• Weeks later: Jiraiya leaves Konoha after a bittersweet talk with Tsunade, tracking her to the Sound lab. He is confroted by Kabuto who tells him to leave, afte refusing Yena steps into the light threatening him with violence, seemingly emotionally numb even without the drug, but is stopped by a revived Orochimaru who mocks Jiraiya for coming, telling him that he was only safed from death because it was needed for a plan while he was revived just to because. This enrages Jiraiya, but as he tries to attack Orochimaru and make him eat his words he is ambushed by a mechanical, chakra-blocking collar that paralyzes his system. He is treated like a sterile research object, successfully regenerating his missing arm and eye with Zetsu cells over a few rough weeks of excruciating, horrific procedures.
• While checking his new hand, Jiraiya forces a confrontation with Yena. He uses his raw physical strength to slam her against the stone wall (Authors note: Kabe-Don lol funny how that came back into play), locking her in. The extreme proximity spikes Yena's heart rate (for the first time in weeks), triggering past memories and the dumb small flitter of hope she had tried to bury. Jiraiya tries to make his feelings clear ("I want you in my life"), but her paranoid, traumatized mind mistakes his gentle touch for a trick to break his collar, and she brutally nails his hand to the floor with needles.
• During the confrontation Jiraiya's patience breaks as he remembers Orochimarus perfidiously suggests from earlier in the day, creating an incubator child combining his and Yena's DNA to mock him. When Jiraiya furiously roars that she can't carry "another man's child," Yena's mind snaps. She stabs Jiraiya deeply in the stomach. Horrified by her own blind rage, she heals him under tears, sobbing "Don't talk like this concerns you!" before running away.
• That night she has a long and vivid dream of things could have been if they had confessed their love during the 4th war, with them living in Konoha and ending up married with a pair of twins, after waking up Yena contemplaits if she was caught in a genjutsu (she was not) and being harshly confronted with her reality throws up, before pulling herself back together.
• After an experiment causes hypothermia as a sever side effect Yena is on the brinck of death, to safe her Kabuto instructs Jiraiya on laying next to her before knocking him out with meds. A week later she wakes up way to close to the man she tries to desperatly to hate. After realising that they are supposedly alone and being reminded of her dream she gets closer. Kabuto had placed a small snake in the vents to spy, despite being loyal to orochimaru he still has a strong sense of friendship in regards to Yena and wants her to be happy which is why he loses the medical drug that kept Jiraiya asleep causing him to wake up (but pretending to sleep lol).
She ends up drawing Suns on his hand while remembering her dream.
• Things continued as normal afterwards. During one check up Jiraiya (who had been very quiet ever since that night) mentions the sun, causing Yena to panic thinking he must have been awake, before he asks if she does not miss it leading her astray. She replies that she spend her life in a lab and in Amegakure and barely knows that the sun even feels like.
• Weeks later, the synthetic child in the incubator is fully formed. Konan infiltrates the lab to free Jiraiya. In the collapsing chaos, Yena uses an adrenaline booster to maximize her Fūton chakra, smashes the incubator glass, grabs the child, and flies out of the ruins into the sky, completely isolated and leaving Jiraiya and Konan behind in the dust.
• They return to Konoha, where people ha believed the lie that he and Yena where traveling the world together to hunt down any left over white Zetsu. He ends up having to tell the truth to have Tsunade help him release his chakra again. Naruto barges into the reunion asking where Yena is, just for Konan to declare that she is no longer a safe ally and on the run with a syntheticly created child. Kakashi and Tsunade are horrified to hear that a "child" was created with Orochimarus Genes, discussing the potentiel treath. Naruto is outrages by the implication and leaves.
• Hinata meets Naruto and learns what has happend, they decide to go after her on their own in secret. Arriving at her hideout in a cave they try talking to her after watching her for a few hours, the child looks a lot like her except for the small snake scales on the cheeks, but his development seems quick as he is already able to say Mama (despite being 4 weeks old). Naruto tries to explain that he is on her side, but the talk is cut short as Jiraiya and Konan suddenly arrive on the scene. Yena manages to escape while Naruto prevents Konan from flying after her. Jiraiya is devestated and while Naruto angrily demands they leave her alone he confesses that he loves her, causing Naruto and the rest to feel sorry for him.
Akt VI: Exile
• Yena flees to a forgotten, karg Steppe borderland between the River and Wind nations, turning a deserted stone house into a secure home. Six weeks pass, and Sora—bearing blue-and-white wings and faint cheek-scales—starts walking and talking at an accelerated pace before his growth stabilizes into a normal toddler rhythm.
• Two years pass. Naruto is the 7th Hokage, Hinata is pregnant, and the Alliance searches for Yena in total secrecy. Sasuke finds her coordinates and shares them with Naruto, who sets out with Shino and Jiraiya (who finally wears the Konoha headband again, his chakra fully restored).
• They find her village decorated with beautiful flowers and children's toys, guarded by massive, domesticated cave-spiders. They see the little boy, Sora, playing tag with them and looking very carefree. Yena appears, looking healthy, with longer hair and laughter lines around her eyes, she has finally found happiness with her son.
• Once Yena is out of view again they try to enter the small "village" causing the spiders to almost attack them before Sora stops them with one sign of his hand. He demands to know wether they are Friend or Foe. Narutos attempt to confince him does not work, till Jiraiya holds out his hand and as Sora hold out his hand as well he draws a sun on his palm. He seems satisfied with that, declaring him the sun ninja and asking why he had not visited before.
• While the new arrivals blink in confusion Yena enters the scene again, instantly extremly angry. As her Chakra errupts Sora jumps back to take her side, two house sized spiders join the scene as well. Before a fight errupts Sora tells her mom that he is the sun ninja. Clearly embarressed but trying to calm down she tells him he is wrong and should go into the house.
• Yena asks what the Hokage could want from her, reminding him that she is in nobodys land. He tries to explain that he wants them to live at Konoha under his protection. Seeming not confinced Jiraiya suddenly speaks up asking her about the sun ninja, causing her anger to flare up again.
• Sora comes out of the house waving around a drawing, exclaiming that Yena had promised him she could give it to the sun ninja if he ever came, she tries to take the drawing from him but due to the swirling wind it gets ripped out of his hand, making it possible for Jiraiya to grab it.
• The drawing shows Yena, Sora, a little girl and a man that looks a suspicious lot like Jiraiya, with the exception that his hand is missing. Sora explains that the little girl was suppose to be his sister An but that she is sleeping in the sunlight and therefore dead, just as the sun ninja.
• The situation takes a turn as Yena seems overly distressed, as she tries to explain that this is not the sun ninja Sora agrees saying he does have to hands. He ends up with the conclusion that they made her mother sad and must therefore be enemies. He declairs Jiraiya the murder of the sun ninja. Grabbed by anger Soras gaze turns dark as his wings turn black and scary strong chakra filles the area.
• Yena manages to force her son out of this rage state by singing to him, making him fall asleep. She agrees to a talk with the three Konoha Ninja, after putting Sora to bed.
• Jiraiya confronts Yena again in regards to the image, asking why she told such a story. She defends herself saying it was not a lie, just a future that could have been but died back then. She also makes clear that she did tell Sora the truth about his birth, but he decided that he would rather want to believe that his family was the on in the drawing even if that meant half of them were dead.
• Yena tells Naruto that she can't see a "normal" future for them, explaining that even if they were accepted despite their appearance, that his rage would make others fear him. Naruto proposes that they could try a modified seal to help with that, suggesting that they give Sora his own choide which Yena agrees to.
• Jiraiya (for some reason) decides that his is the right time to pick up his speech from way back when, saying he chose to follow her not because of some feelings of duty or feeling in debt, but because he wanted her in his life
an indirect confession that Yena does not reply to at this point of time
• After explaining Sora everything he agrees on going to Konoha, excited about potentially new people to play with, though he says he will miss the spiders.
Akt VII: New Era
• Four weeks later, the family is living in a cozy apartment in Konoha. While Sora plays happily in the ninja kindergarten, Jiraiya and Yena share a quiet, moment in the kitchen, making dinner together. Though her emotional walls aren't fully down yet, Jiraiya’s humor finally makes her laugh again, opening the gates to a peaceful, warm future.
