Saku (作) meaning "made by," and from sakusaku (さくさく), onomatopoeia for crunching sand.
Sakumi is an aspiring puppeteer from the Hidden Sand. She lacks the backing of a clan or even a family with a ninja background. Therefore she has/has had a number of troubles in pursuing puppet mastery, though those are the exact ninja she's looked up to from a young age. She puts a great deal of effort and love into her creations.
