Sayo was born into the Yochi clan the night of the Summer Solstice, the shortest night of the year. When he and his older brother, Yuto, were young and exploring the forest near the Yochi clan lands, they accidentally fell to their deaths. Or they would have, had they not both awakened Precognition at the same time and avoided that fate.
That was the first time in decades a member of the clan had manifested Precognition, and the first time in centuries it manifested in two members of the same generation. Sayo and his brother were immediately taken under the Head Family's wing and trained thoroughly in the control of the Kekkei Genkai. The question of who would become the next Clan Head depended entirely on the potential of each brother, so it was an extremely pressuring environment. Unfortunately for Sayo, he was the least ambitious of the two, but the more talented, and it strained his relationship with his brother to the point Yuto tried to kill him. Several times. Thanks to Precognition, Sayo could avoid all his attempts, but since Yuto also possessed Precognition, he could adjust accordingly. The stress was constant. That's why Sayo decided to leave his clan and his Village when he turned 13.
