Name meaning

First name meaning: 大 means "big, excellent, greatly."
心 means "heart, mind, core."

Overview

Taishi Hoshigaki is a shinobi from the Hoshigaki clan. With his relative, Kisame, being assigned as a guard of the Cypher Division, Taishi too felt like he had to live up to expectations and make a name for himself in Kirigakure. However, this did not bode well for him. When sent to the chunin exams, he was matched up against Hibana Uchiha, losing the match. Unfortunately, he is never given the chance to make a name for himself when Kisame defects from Kirigakure and more or less taints the Hoshigaki name as a result.

Taishi is a bit of a loudmouth, but has a sort of "chivalrous" personality, hesitating at first to fight against Hibana on account of her being a girl.
