Summon
Setsuko is Asahi's first and main summons. She is a mid-sized saltwater crocodile (which is to say, still large), and is Asahi's closest friend.

Asahi has a notable scar over the right side of their mouth, where part of their lip is missing; their teeth are always visible. They have several moles on their face & neck. Their light grey hair is long & unruly, usually tied back into a braid. Both of their ears are pierced, along with their right eyebrow & bridge. Their eyes are black, except for where their left has sectoral heterochromia, which is an extremely light blue bordering on white. It gives the illusion of their sclera bleeding into their iris. They are long-limbed & stand with a lax posture, but they do not slouch. Asahi has teeth more befitting a canine than a human.
Asahi dresses in a standard, practical fashion: dark colors, light armor, flak vest, with many holsters and pockets. Like many Ame-nin, it carries a rebreather as part of its standard equipment. Its rebreather has a full facemask, which Asahi has decorated with horns. It has the Amegakure symbol slashed through on the forehead. Asahi favors boots over sandals. It has a simple chain necklace that sits under its vest, only visible when dressed casually.

Asahi's mother was a nin from Konohagakure that was left for dead in the Second Shinobi War. Disillusioned and resentful of Konoha, Harumi defected and remained in the land where she was abandoned. Left with permanent injuries from her last battle, she was fortunate enough to find a blacksmith willing to apprentice her in a small town in the Land of Rain.
After Harumi's blacksmith apprenticeship was completed, she moved to Amegakure proper. Shortly after, she had Asahi. Asahi's childhood was unremarkable but loving. Harumi taught Asahi some shinobi skills before Asahi decided to become a ninja.
Asahi never learned much about Hatake clan traditions or history. Harumi was afraid of being targeted for her former alliegence to Konoha, so she kept their heritage quiet.
When Asahi was 9, Harumi was assassinated because she was suspected as a spy.
