Shinya is a man of few words with a lot to say (he doesn't speak much unless talked to, but when he gets the mic, he doesn't stop). He is seen as a no-quite-Nara-Nara — he doesn't like lazying around, he wakes up early, he smiles quite a lot; a lot of people don't believe him when he says he's a Nara. People tend to underestimate him because of his cheerful side, some would even dare to calm him stupid, which he uses to his advantage.

Notable behaviors
Shinya tends to ask for second opinions every time he comes up with a plan even though he knows it's gonna work out. He doesn't have self esteem and never questioned himself he just wants to know if his team can keep up with him/his plan.
He sometimes does that in normal conversations too seeking validation. People who don't know him think he's just acting cocky but he does it without even realising sometimes.
When he thinks he has an exact position he takes (like Shikamaru). He sits down with his legs crossed his hands form an upside-down triangle and he zones out as he stares into nothingness.
