Marriage life & Reasons why she wants to kill Senju Tobirama
On the first night, after the wedding, she entered her new home and instantly walked into a room as far from Tobirama as possible. It was 5 minutes later when she found out that was Tobirama's own bedroom. He showed her the bedroom he prepared for her, and needless to say, she hated it.
It was big, far too big for one person. There was nothing in there other than a bed and a closet. She realised she had no clothes to change into as well. That night she slept in her wedding dress, had breakfast the next morning in the wedding dress, and had to wait in it until Tobirama went to take her things from her previous home (she refused to go outside in that dress).
There were so many things that man did that made him even more insufferable.
Tobirama started acting like he gives a fuck — which he obviously does not from the way he looks at her. His eyes scream hatred while his words give comfort. Kiyomi feels violent instincts every time she makes eye contact with him.
He cooks. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. He, somehow, manages to cook and it's fucking good, which is annoying as hell.
He tries to have conversations with her — which she never agreed to. On the first day after they got married, she told him to never speak to her unless it is important. So why is he asking her what she likes to eat, or if she has anything to do during the day, or if she needs a key to the house? Of course she needs a key to the house! She unfortunately LIVES there.
Tobirama loves to walk around the house without a shirt on. It is absolutely annoying to see him naked all the damn time, and the scars on his body that she remembers putting on him while they were fighting are a message to both of them that this is NOT right. They shouldn't be married. The urge to touch them is also unbearable.
He remembers. She murmured to herself once that she wanted to eat some dango but she didn't feel like going out that day, and that man, for some god damn reason, came back home after work with dangos in his hand. She mentioned once that she needs new pairs of shoes, and after around one month, she even forgot about it because she started getting busy with Uchiha clan stuff, but he remembered! When she got home one day, he asked her when she wanted to buy shoes cause he's free soon and if she needs company (which she doesn't, first of all. and second of all, who is he to think that she'll go with him?) he can go with her. (they went together during the weekend).
So to say, that marriage life is not the best and she wants a divorce.
Falling in love
Should she be honest, it was insanely too easy to fall in love. Especially once Tobirama stopped looking at her like he wanted her dead, and when he started bringing home sweets or pastries after work every day, or when he always, somehow, for some reason, received flowers from a stranger while coming home during lunch and he always gave it to her because he ‘doesn’t like flowers but they're too pretty to throw away’. And when the flowers slowly started having small letters in between bulbs ‘Forgive me, I won't be able to cook dinner today’, ‘The smell reminded me of you’, ‘I hope you like them’.
Kiyomi found herself helplessly in love in around 2 years. And that's when the nightmares started.
The moment she allowed herself to put a label on the things she felt around Tobirama, the moment she started seeking his affection & touch, the moment she started being unable to picture a future without him — Izuna appeared in her dreams.
‘Don't you remember what he did to me?’ he would say. He wasn't happy. He never was in her dreams. Izuna would shake her aggressively, making her remember the way his body fell on the ground after Tobirama had attacked him; remember the way she screamed his name; how Tobirama looked down at him and walked closer; how she ran towards them, getting his body in her arms and running back to home; how she tried so hard to stop the bleeding; how he repeatedly told her there's no way he's surviving that.
She would wake up in cold sweats, tears falling down her eyes like a waterfall, and Tobirama next to her, holding her in his arms. She would cry even harder.
When he asked, she never answered. ‘You don't have to worry about it’, she would say, which made him worry even more. Would anyone blame her for being scared to see how he would react? ‘Move on, it happened years ago.’ ‘Ah, I see. You're right, we can't be married. I will ask my brother for a divorce.’
She didn't want to lose him, as guilty as that made her feel, she didn't want to lose him at all. For a period of 3 to 4 years, their relationship went through many ups and downs while she tried to control her feelings.
Then, it all went wrong, with Madara going against her again.
‘It's for political reasons,’ he said about the marriage. ‘The clans. We can't live together if we hate each other’, Madara said. Yet he betrayed them — the Uchihas, the Senjus, Konoha. Kiyomi.
With Madara gone, dead, she was alone. Purely and utterly alone. She had no one left. She became the head of the clan without any possibility of saying no. She had to stay married to Tobirama to make sure that the Senju's didn't attack the Uchiha's after what Madara had done.
She had to solve problems that wouldn't have happened if Madara had just listened to her before unifying with Hashirama. She had to keep in close contact with Hashirama, for the clan, while she was slowly losing herself.
With everything on top of each other, in a moment of weakness, she found refuge and comfort in Tobirama, and she ended up giving birth to a daughter when she was 33. The daughter clearly didn't possess any chakra that could help her develop the Sharingan, and with no heirs from Madara, she needed to have another child.
That's when it all became complicated, because the Uchiha elders didn't want any Senju blood in the leader that would come after her, but they also wanted a child that was biologically hers. Yet, they didn't want her to divorce Tobirama.
‘Marry a second husband.’ She instantly refused something like that, she didn't need a second husband. They told her to, then, produce an heir with an Uchiha of their choice, if a second husband was so atrocious.
Delivering the news to Tobirama, she already knew what to expect; but she could've never foreseen the pain in his eyes as she was explaining. ‘Don't.’ A silent beg, a last hope to save the relationship that was slowly breaking ever since Madara left; but he knew she couldn't say no.
When she finally got pregnant again, he refused to talk to her for months, until the birth of the child. Two years after she gave birth to their daughter, Niyū, Kiyomi gave birth to a son, Kokū.
To some extent, it made their relationship better, however Tobirama could never truly love Kokū as much as he loves Niyū. He always tried to not make it seem like he favours the daughter, but it was a hard. When Kokū was 10 years old, by a sad encounter with some elders of the Uchiha, he heard that Tobirama wasn't his real father. He went home crying, begging Tobirama and Kiyomi to say it wasn't true. When neither of them said anything other than ‘You'll understand when you'll grow older’, Kokū went to his room, screaming ‘I hate you, Father.’
They didn't talk to each other after that no matter how much Tobirama tried to engage with him.
Senju Tobirama died on the battlefield days later. Kiyomi ended up dying five years later, when Niyū was 17 & Kokū was 15.
Niyū and Kokū ended up living away from each other, with Kokū becoming the Uchiha head at 15 and Niyū simply refusing to associate herself with him.
